This is a translation report on the fiction novel Six Months, Three Days by thefamous American novelist Charlie Jane Anders. This novel won the Hugo Awards forthe best novella in2012and got nominated for Nebular Awards, which stands animportant status in the world’s literature. The main contents of this report are dividedinto four parts: Part One is the translation project description, including projectbackground, objectives and significance. Part Two is the study background of thetranslation project, including the theoretical basis and the introduction to the sourcetext. This thesis takes reference of the Translation Studies:An Integrated Approach ofMary Snell-Hornby to explore the translation of fiction novel, hopefully to providenew view and method for literature translation study and contribute good translationversion of fiction novel. Part Three is about the difficulties and methods used duringthe translation process. The source text is a fiction novel with lots of dialogues andpsychological descriptions. The difficulties lie in the accurate translation of dialoguesand psychological description. The translator needs to deliberate author’s emotion andthe structures of the article, and pay attention to the style of the article and thecollocation of the sentiment and scene. The methods the translator used in this projectmainly include: the choice of word, conversion, addition and reduction, and so on.Part Four concludes with the lessons, implications and unsolved problems in thetranslation project.
