This is a project report on the translation of “The Good Journey”, Chapter8of Bad Childhood—Good Life written by Laura Schlessinger. As the final chapterof this book, Chapter8is mainly concerned with how Dr. Laura Schlessinger helpsher listeners get over their childhood scars and find a good life again, concludingwith13methods to leading a “Good Life”.This report consists of four parts. Chatper1is the introduction, in which thebackground, purpose, significance and components of this translation project arepresented. In Chapter2, the background of the original text and its author, themain contents and the linguistic features of the original text are described. Chapter3focuses on the difficulties encountered in translating, and the translation theoriesand skills adopted during the translation are also illustrated with examples.Chapter4is a summary of the experiences and lessons learned by the translator inthe process of this translation project, including some insufficiencies that shouldbe made up in future.
