This is a translation project report on Chapter8Vocabulary Acquisition andAssessments of Language Level, Measuring Second Language VocabularyAcquisition by James Milton. The source text mainly discusses the relationshipbetween vocabulary acquisition and language assessment. It entails acomprehensive analysis of the following three aspects: vocabulary size andexamination level, such as IELTS grades, the relationship between vocabulary sizeand reading, speaking and writing skills, vocabulary size and CEFR. The maincontents of this translation report are divided into four parts: Part One is theintroduction to the translation project, including project background, projectobjective, and project significance as well as project structure. Part Two is thebackground of project, including theoretical basis, brief introduction of the author,main contents of the source text as well as lingual analysis of the source text. PartThree elaborates on project preparation, translation difficulties and key translationmethods. Part Four concludes with translation enlightenments, lessons andunsolved problems in the translation project.
