| This is a translation project report on Chinese Thinking Mode (PP246~268),or Chapters16~Chapter17, part I by Wu Chun. The source text can be dividedinto two parts: Chapter16and Chapter17, part I. Chapter16talks about thegeneration of logical thinking and the mode and regularities of inference anddemonstration through the analysis on the classical works, including Zuozhuan,Mozi and Mencius. Chapter17, part I talks about the evolution of analogousthinking and its features through the analysis on the classical works, including TheArt of War and Huangdi Neijing.This report is composed of seven parts. Part One is the summary of thisreport, including its background, target and significance. Part Two comes to thetext analysis and the applied theory. Part Three introduces the difficulties and thesolutions to them. The difficulties include the translation of works written inclassical Chinese and the logical terms, as well as the confirmation of therelationship between sentences and paragraphs. Part Four presents the inspirationsand lessons for the translator and the unsolved questions. Part Five is thebibliography and Part Six is the appendix, namely the source text and the targettext. The final part is the acknowledgements to those who have offered great help. |
