This is a translation project report on Chinese Thinking Mode (PP282-303)written by Wu Chun. The source text can be divided into two parts, Chapter18andChapter19, part I. Chapter18describes the origin of dialectical thinking and its threeforms:interdependence, transformation and opposite through the analysis on theclassical works, including Lao-tzu, Zhuang-tzu and The Book of Changes. Besides, itcompares different thinking mode between China and Greece, and makes a conclusionof the two thinking modes. Chapter19, part I mainly talks about one part ofHolism—symmetrical thought.This report is composed of seven parts. Part one is the introduction of the report,including its background, significance and structure. Part Two comes to text analysisand the applied theory. Part Three introduces the difficulties and solutions. Thedifficulties include the translation of classical Chinese and the logical sentences. PartFour presents the inspirations and lessons for translator and the unsolved questions.
