Due to the differences of thinking patterns,English and Chinese have different characteristics.In English parataxis is highlighted,while Chinese is a language of hypotaxis.Compared with Chinese,there are abundant prepositions in English,thus in English-Chinese translation,it is particularly of importance to translate prepositions into corresponding words in Chinese accurately.As a preposition with high frequency in English,the use of with is quite flexible,so it makes great sense to have a good commend of with and summarize the rules of translation from English to Chinese according to the relevant theories.The report chooses the Introduction and Chapterl of Facebook Marketing(Third Edition)as the translation text,with the English-Chinese translation of with as the research object.In the translation process,the author uses five translation strategies,namely amplification,omission,conversion,division and literal translation.To ensure the accuracy and fluency of translation,the author splits and integrates sentences and deals with the translation of person and mood according to language habits of Chinese.The report shows,in the process of English-Chinese translation,the translator should understand the source text thoroughly,have a clear idea of the message conveyed by the with,be familiar with the differences of logical thinking modes and take the characteristics of the target language and the language habits of the readers into account.It is hoped that this report can provide reference for future translators in terms of the relevant marketing texts.
