Good peer relationship is the important condition to realize the task ofchildren’s psychological development and socialization smoothly. since the end of19th century researchers increasingly focus on the meaning of peer relations tochildren’s development, at the same time those children missing peer relations,namely the socially withdrawal children also gradually to the attention of theresearchers. The definition of social withdrawal is that children play games aloneor be alone in social situations or companion situation.Social withdrawal not only means that children are unable to establish agood peer relations, but also is the risk factors leading to their psychologicalanxiety, depression, poor self-assessment, lack of social skills development andso on, and these problems may manifest as children’s the growth of the age and,prompting its behavior alienation and can not adapt to social life. Therefore,exploring the methods of social withdrawal intervention, improve their socialability, become one of the important research fields.Most of the previous studies are at the theoretical level, but interventionstudies is poor and mostly concentrate in early childhood,and there are fewresearches about social withdrawal in late childhood and adolescence. This studyselected two social withdrawal children(11,12years old) in grade6from oneprimary school, and intervene those individual factors affecting socialwithdrawal by combining the methods of group counseling and individualcounseling to explore the effective way of intervention in school conditions. Thisdissertation is mainly consisted of three parts: the first part, the review of theliterature and introduction of this research; the second part: the design ofintervention and intervention process; the third part: discussion and suggestions and the limitations of this study is put forward.The first part of this dissertation we put forward the review of the literatureand the introduction of the problem to summarize the previous study of socialwithdrawal, mainly including the theory research and intervention research. Thenwe put forward the definition of social withdrawal children, the types of socialwithdrawal, analysis social withdrawal’s effects on children’s development, andsummarize the problems and causes of social withdrawal, elucidate thesignificance of this study.The second part of this dissertation put forward the design and the processof intervention, mainly including the theoretical basis of the research, thepurpose、method and train of thought of the study, case analysis, the plan andanalysis of the intervention process. And finally we do with evaluation of thecounseling effect of the intervention, mainly including the subjective assessment,objective assessment (questionnaire evaluation), and the painting test.The third part of this dissertation we put forward the discussion andsuggestion, discusses the main factors that is effective of this intervention study,give suggest to change children’s social withdrawal, and reflect the shortage ofthe study.Results show that social withdrawal children’s social communicationconsciousness comes a long way, positive experience in a relationship increased,contact number rise and communication range significantly increased.
