In recent years, the general warming of the global "Chinese fever" phenomenon is an indisputable fact. Countries around the world set off a craze of learning Chinese, especially in Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, adopt a series of policies to encourage Chinese language education in primary schools, secondary schools, vocational schools and universities. Now, in Thailand, more than80million primary and secondary students are keen to learn Chinese. According to statistics, the number of students choose to study Chinese in Thailand is increasing year by year, especially in recent years, has exceeded the number of electives in other languages, become the second largest elective foreign language beside English.Although the number of students learning Chinese in Thailand increased year by year, but the research about the Chinese elective courses did not keep up the pace, especially teaching methods. Task-based approach is developed in the past30years as a worthy effective second language teaching methods, which emphasis on "learning by doing", emphasizing to students as the center. The concept of Chinese elective emphasized to improve the Chinese listening and speaking ability, the Thai Ministry of Education calls for reform of the teaching and the characteristics of Thai university students are very consistent.Thus, I used the opportunity as a volunteer Chinese teacher in Thailand Ayutthaya Rajabhat University, based on task-based approach and did overall instructional design, gained some experience and lessons. I hope to provide a lesson for Chinese teachers of the University of Thailand, and also want to be able to play a valuable role, causing more people concerned about the Chinese elective courses and research.In addition to the introduction, the conclusion, the paper is divided into four chapters:Chapter one, literature review, review of domestic and foreign scholars on the research results of the task-based teaching, overseas Chinese elective courses, second language teaching design and Thailand Chinese teaching; chapter two introduces the nature and characteristics of the Chinese elective courses, and then the teaching situation about Chinese elective courses at the University of Thailand were investigated and analyzed from two aspects of the teachers and students, and on this basis, the applicable was analyzed that if task-based teaching is applicable for Chinese elective courses; in the third chapter, the author did the Chinese elective courses overall design; Chapter four demonstrates a teaching case and instructional feedback, and by the author of self-reflection and student questionnaire feedback come to the revelation of the design of teaching.
