Brief Analysis Of The Nearly Thirty Years Hongkong Film From Post-colonialism

HONG KONG was known as the "Hollywood of the East", which had a great influence on film culture of the world. From a large number of Hong Kong movies, we can clearly feel Hong Kong people’s culture. Since signed the "Joint Declaration", confirming the return of Hong Kong has been for thirty years. I try to analyze HONG KONG culture from the HONG KONG film, but I mainly use the method and theory which is developing in the same period of the world,"Post-colonialism".This paper start from the basic concept, explain "post-colonialism" theory background, correlation theory, representative figure; then introduce HONG KONG film and culture from the glory and contradiction, which are able to division history period of nearly thirty years HONG KONG film better.The main part of the paper is the analysis of the past thirty years of the HONG KONG film by post-colonialism. In the teacher’s careful guidance, I give up my plan from director works because it is methods of the author theory.The last part of the thesis is about meaning and value analysis. Through the paper we can clear mentality and creative thinking of HONG KONG. Taking Hong Kong movie brilliant period of history as mirror, it can be better for creating co-production with the mainland in the global film market, and maintaining the original HONG KONG culture.
