With the improvement of human’s standard of living condition, more attention is focused on wooden door, people’s requirement of high quality wooden doors is also growing. The processing of hardware slot is the key of the whole production process of wooden door. The processing hardware slot affects the efficiency of wood door production directly. The quality of hardware slot is closely related to the doors’quality. At present, the processing technology of hardware slot mainly includes traditional manual processing and general machining. There are many problems on traditional manual processing methods such as low productivity, labor-intensive working, high demand of workers’skill, difficult control of quality of lot and hole of hardware. While the general machining operates on more than two engraving, milling, drilling machines. The whole process is divided into several processing procedures, and complicated manual operation for feeding is time-consuming, and the precision is not fine. All these methods do not meet the needs of modern processing whether in the view of precision or machine structure, production efficiency. Consequently, it is urgent to design new CNC machining equipment for wooden door with slot and hole of hardware, which will not only provide new thinking for the development of woodworking machinery which will meet the market demand, but also improve China’s level of CNC wood working machinery.In this paper, the wooden door hardware slot was the typical object for processing. Through analysis of structural features and CNC machining process of wooden door hardware slot, the CNC equipment on wooden door hardware slot was designed. In this design, the structure formed of cantilever with X,Y,Z axis linkage was used for the CNC equipment, which was consisted of cutting systems, bed, table, clamping mechanism, pneumatic system and CNC system. The cutting system included transmission, Fand Z-feeding mechanism. The rationality of rack and pinion design of X-feeding mechanism was checked. The contact ratio of this rack and pinion reached the demand of the design through calculating, consequently the stability of the transmission was ensured.The finite element analysis was carried on the key component of the machine. After static and modal analysis of the bed, the static maximum stress, maximum displacement and stress distribution of the bed, and the natural frequencies and mode shapes under the lower mode of the bed were gained. The results showed that the bed met the design demand with fine strength, rigidity and stability.The motional model of CNC machining equipment for wooden door hardware slot was established in Solid Edge Synchronous environment, and motion simulation of the model was analyzed, which verified the structural design’s reasonability. Through simulating the CNC machining process for wooden door hardware slot in the Pro/NC environment, the CNC G-codes of wooden door hardware slot was obtained, and this laid the foundation for the actual production and processing of wooden door hardware slot.
