Wire bars and rods play a very important role in national economy and widelyused in manufacturing and construction industry. With the increasingly fierce marketcompetition and various advanced rolling technology continues to evolve, people’srequirements of mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy, product quality,development cycle and production cost of the bar are improving too. Therefore, studyand explore the bar rolling pass design, the deformation law and rolling technologicalparameters are necessary to improve the rolling process, reduce production costs,improve product quality and precision.The use of computer offline simulation technology to design the pass, andforecast continuous rolling process in the pass which had been designed by thecomputer, make it able to predict the manufacturability of the product and guaranteeits dimensional accuracy. In this paper, the author study on bar rolling, base on theplastic processing principles, the pass design theory and the theory of finite element,developed the bar rolling Offline simulation software.The software use C++programming language as development platform, useround steel bar rolling as solid model, select suitable wide exhibition, rolling force,rolling torque and temperature calculation model to build the pass design andtechnological parameters calculated source program. The software also use VisualBasic6.0to makesure the bar rolling process offline simulation could visual interface,then call the source program which was written by C++programming language bymix-programming method. In this way, the software can adapt to a broad range of barrolling process offline simulation. It also has a good versatility, a clear and friendlyinterface, and easy to operate.With the comparison of simulating result by the software with experiment resultand MARC finite element simulation data, the system is proved to be accurate andacceptable.
