Injection CAE is one of important application technologies in plastic part design and injection mould technology. It is based on the theories of rheology and heat transfer to build the physics and mathematical model of a mould. The process of dynamic fill and cooling in the cavity of a mould can be calculated quantificationally by technology of computer graphics.The model of a brush box is taken as the object of the research. The brush box is an important part of the slip ring about the investigation positioning system.With the application of Moldflow, the finite element model of the brush box, injection system and cooling system are discussed. The optimal gate location and the optimal process parameters of the injection mould are calculated by numerical simulation.The warpage deformation problem of the brush box is simulated with the experimental design by orthogonal experimental. Therefore, the degree of warpage is regarded as the quality characteristic in warpage analysis. The warpage data are obtained under different molding conditions including mold temperature, melt temperature, injection time, packing time and packing pressure. The warpage data are also analyzed using ANOVA, The results are used to compare the influencing degree of each factors. Furthermore, using the optimum set of effective factors obtained; more simulations are carried out by changing one factor at a time and keeping the others at their optimum level, to investigate the effect and mechanism of each factor on the warpage.This paper guided the designing of the plastic mould structure, optimized the trial process parameters of the injection, reduced the cost of the produce and improved the quality of the brush box.
