For the lighting designer, with the cooperation to the high-end customers, international architects and other professional designers, more and more lighting designers need to take into account the specific needs of the project, the specific conditions and budget expenditures. While lighting designers provide first-class lighting design for the partners, whose work allows users to experience the safe, reliable and interesting architectural space, achieves the requirements of environmental protection and energy saving, and adds more green into life. However, as for the lighting design standards of interior public space of shopping mall, whether the CIE, the illumination standards of Japan, or the national standards which is GB50034-2004/architectural lighting design standards, the illumination requirements are very general and there is not any given specific the illumination reference value.In this paper, using scientific methods of investigation as a research basis, and taking architecture, Interior design, visual psychology as theory support system, I analyzed and summarized the lighting design methods of centralized shopping mall interior public space basing on a systematic study, on site research, and personnel project experience.The first chapter is divided into two parts. In the first part, I systematically analyze the definition, history and types of the shopping mall. In the second part, after confirming the topic research object-urban centralized shopping mall, I summarize its definition, space function, space type, and essential space elements. The second chapter takes a study on the lighting design methods of indoor public space of typical centralized shopping malls in domestic first-tier cities, summarizes those advantages and disadvantages, and introduces questions. The third chapter analyzes the questions by taking close research on the successful cases and literature of interior public space lighting projects of shopping malls. The fourth chapter solves the problems through the project practice. The fifth chapter is the conclusion and expectation.There are two points of the innovation in this paper:1. With the help of the cases, a wide variety of lighting design methods in the shopping mall interior public space have been inspected, and the lighting methods of domestic and international shopping malls interior public space have been summarized and analyzed systematically.2. Through the project practice the lighting methods of the domestic centralized shopping mall interior public space have been introspected and summarized.
