This paper is based on current existing problems of Chinese reading insecond language teaching. Transversely from the aspects of foreign Chineselearners、teachers and teaching methods and longitudinally according to thelogic sequence of posing problem、problem analysis and problem-solving, itexplored Chinese reading teaching in various aspects. Meanwhile, according tothe experience in Chinese reading teaching practice, the author proposed somepersonal opinion on how to improve the present situation of Chinese readingteaching, which is expected to be contributive to the theory research of Chinesereading teaching.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part overviewed thetheoretical basis of this article and the present situation of theoretical study ofChinese reading teaching in second language teaching as well as the academicvalue of the study. The second part analyzed the existing problems in Chinesereading teaching practice systematically from the learners, teachers, etc. Thethird part put forward the suggestions and strategies according to the problemsin Chinese reading teaching. The fourth part is the main part of this paper, inwhich it dealed with various of Chinese reading teaching methods in teachingChinese as a second language. In the end, it summarized the main content ofthis article and the shortcomings that need to be improved.
