Er Source Dialect Phonetic Research

The Eryuan County, which belongs to Dali city, locates at the southwest ofYunnan Province. Eryuan dialect belongs to Yunnan part of SouthwestMandarin.Until now, the study of Eryuan dialect is not systematic and thorough,the special study of it is far from enough also.On the basis of the detailed research of Eryuan dialect, this thesis, which focuson the Phonetic system of dialect of the capital of Eryuan, uses synchronic descriptionprimarily and adopts the methods of both synchronic comparison and diachroniccomparison. The thesis aims at showing the phonetic features of Eryuan dialectthoroughly, which will be helpful to the research of the Yunnan pian dialect and theSouthwest Mandarin.This thesis contains six chapters. Chapter one introduces the geography,population and the history evolution of Eryuan County，then discusses sub areas ofEryuan dialect, phonetic features and their innerdifferences. It also summarizespresent research about the phonetic of Eryuan dialect. Chapter two and three depictphonetic system of Eryuan dialect from different sides, including the consonant, thevowel, the tone, the phonetic differences between speaking and oral reading. Chapterfour and five compares the phonetic system in Eryuan with the one in Beijing,Kunming, as well as with the one in the Chinese in mid-ancient times from the side ofthe consonant, the vowel and the tone. Chapter six is the form of homonyms andrecords the pronunciations of common words in Eryuan dialect.
