The publication of the Ninth Bamboo Book of Chu in Shanghai Museum(hereinafter referred to as"Shanghai Bojiu")attracted a great deal of attention from the academic circles and set off a upsurge in the study of Chu bamboo slips. As far as the content of bamboo slips is concerned,it involves many aspects such as literary history, cultural history, ideological history and so on.It has high research value.Scholars have launched a heated discussion on the compilation of bamboo slips and the interpretation of characters. However, there are few comprehensive inspections of common and false characters or variants.Taking this as a breakthrough point, this paper attempts to sort out the common and false characters and variant characters in Shangbo Jiuzhong, and further analyzes their usage phenomenon,so as to grasp the usage law of Chu bamboo slips more accurately and comprehensively. This paper consists of three chapters:The first chapter is the introduction part.It mainly introduces the reasons for choosing the topic, the scope of materials, the purpose of the study, the significance of the study, the writing ideas, the structure of the article, and reviews the related achievements in the study of oracle bone inscriptions, bronze inscriptions and the usage of the characters of the Warring States Period.Chapter 2 combs the variants in Shangbo Nine comprehensively and systematically, and classifies them according to their different attributes:(1)variants formed by simplification of form;(2)variants formed by multiplication of form;(3)variants formed by replacement of semantics and phonetic symbols;(4)variants formed by different structural properties;(5)variants formed by influence of classification(6)Alien characters formed by partial translocation or change.Chapter 3 gives some explanations on the de:finition and determination criteria of Tong-Kang characters in general, and classifies them according to the phonological relationship between "original character" and "borrowed character":(1)duplex phonology,i.e.the same initial and rhyme parts;(2)duplex phonology,i.e.the same initial but different rhyme parts;(3)duplicate phonology,i.e.the same rhyme.the same rhyme.the same rhyme parts but different initial parts;(4)similar phonology and rhyme.Although consonants and rhymes are different, they are related to transitions, parastrophes and contrasts,or belong to the same phonological system. The concluding part makes a high-level summary of the overall content of the article, mainly focusing on the characteristics of variants and counterfeit characters, and grasps the shape change law of variants and counterfeit characters in Shangbo Nine Middle School as a whole. Finally,I will talk about some personal opinions and some experience in the process of sorting out materials. When discussing the phenomena of the use of nine characters in Shangbo, this paper, based on the relevant Chu bamboo slips and textual research results, dynamically analyses the corresponding relationship between the characters and the words in Shangbo Jiuzhong from the perspective of philology, and evidences it with the help of relevant literature. In order to achieve the goal of rich content and full reasoning,we should make every group of common and false characters and variant characters have evidence to follow and justify. In this paper, the study of the nine-character usage in Shangbo is based on the summary of the rules of tong-jiao characters and allotype characters, and the analysis and demonstration are carried out from the three angles of form, sound and meaning. The conclusion may not be completely accurate, but it is hoped that it will be beneficial to the study of Chu bamboo slips and help the future work of sorting out Chu scripts.
