In this paper, the relationship of personality, subjective well-being and gratitude ofcollege students were investigated in order to improve the subjective well-being andgratitude level of them, to explore the more efficient gratitude intervention methods, topromote the perfection of students’ personality and to provide psychological basis forbuilding a harmonious society. In this study,595college students were selected randomlyfrom five colleges and universities as research subjects. They were measured by EysenckPersonality Questionnaire (China Edition), General Well-Being Schedule and the revised“College Students Gratitude Questionnaire”. The dates were processed by usingSPSS17.0. This article comprehensively studied the effects of demographic variables oncollege students personality, subjective well-being and gratitude, analyzed therelationship between college students’ personality, subjective well-being and gratitude,explored the mediating effects of subjective well-being between the personality andgratitude.The conclusions are as follows: The lie (L) and psychoticism (P) of collegestudents’ personality are significantly different on the origin of students. The lie of thecountryside students is significant higher than the students from city. On the contrary, thepsychoticism of city Students is higher than the countryside students. The lie of collegestudents is also different on the sexuality. The girls are higher than boys. Besides, theNeuroticism (N) is various from the professional, the students majored in liberal arts arehigher than student majored in science.Melancholy or pleasure mood of college students’ subjective well-being exitssignificantly different effects on healthy worried factor. The melancholy or pleasuremood factor of girls is higher than boys’, it means that the girls are usually happier thanboys. The healthy worried factor of boys is higher than girls’. Healthy worried factor isvarious significant from professional. The students majored in science are higher thanstudents majored in liberal arts. The city and countryside students have differences onemotional or behavioral controlling factor, the former is higher than the later. Relaxationand stress factor varies from freshmen to graduates. Freshmen most likely feel relaxed,the pressure of sophomores, juniors and seniors increases in order. Life satisfaction factor,interest factor and melancholy or pleasure mood factor are all various from freshmen tograduates, the freshmen and sophomores are satisfied with the lives, have cyclopaedic interests and are pleasant. Juniors and seniors’ satisfaction declined and become more andmore melancholic.The score of college students’ gratitude and all the factors are significantly differenton the sexuality. The girls’ gratitude level is higher than the boys’. Gratitude span factoralso exists significant difference on the child who is only or not. The child who hasbrothers or sisters shows her or his gratitude on many things, however the single birth not.The subjective well-being, gratitude level of different college students who have differentpersonality are variety. The extroverts have a high subjective well-being and gratitudelevel.There is a significant correlation among personality, subjective well-being andgratitude. Personality has a better predictor on subjective well-being as well as subjectivewell-being on gratitude. By testing the mediating effects of subjective well-beingbetween personality and gratitude, we could reach the conclusion: subjective well-beingis the mediating effects between personality and gratitude, personality can affect thegratitude mediate through subjective well-being.
