This paper discusses the architectural mingqi(burial objects)unearthed in the tombs of Han dynasty China. By studying the burial properties and forms of the building models, this paper advocated architectural mingqi as concepts and artistic images.The research, based on the relation between the building models and the tombs, launches the elaboration. A large number of examples show that, the architectural models have its spatial significance in tombs and they are not isolated. In order to make them play roles in tombs, the functional constructions of these models were represented meticulous.Granaries, stoves, wells and privies (pigsties) are the most common forms among the building models; multi-storeyed buildings (taolou) look like the most creative. Different types architectural models reflect the needs in the tombs are the ideal buildings, rather than the realistic reproduction.In addition, as architectural art, variety forms of building constructions reflect the craftsmen’s architectural concept and imagination in Han dynasty.
