Shaanxi Sanyuan Dialect Research

Sanyuan county,Shaanxi Province is located in the center of800li Qinchuan, wellknown as the heart of Guanzhong area，named after three plateau:Menghouyuan,Bailuyuan, and Fengyuan. It borders on Lintong,Fuping,Yanliang to the east,Gaoling tothe south,Jingyang,Chunhua to the west,and Tongchuan district,Yaozhou district to thenorth.The area is577.4square kilometers,and the population is about412300,the countyarea is10square kilometers.Sanyuan dialect belongs to the Guanzhong sub-dialect ofthe zhongyuan dialect of the northern Mandarin Chinese.This thesis includes four parts:prologue,the analysis of phonology,glossary andgrammatical character.The prologue introduces geography,history and the general situation of Sanyuandialect briefly,and elaborated the present situation and the significance of research ondialect in Sanyuan briefly.The phonetic part describes the phonetic system of Sanyuan dialect, analyzescharacteristics of initial consonants,vowels, and tones respectively,and discusses thelanguage phenomenon of the continuing reading tonal modifying.Then lists thesyllabary of Sanyuan dialect,record the everyday character in Sanyuan dialect.Lastcompares the Sanyuan phonology with Mandarin Chinese,summarizes theircorresponding rules.The lexical part records the everyday words in Sanyuan dialect by the form ofglossary,mainly according to the standard of meaning and usage category.The grammatical part records some special characters in Sanyuan dialect such asthe pronoun,the reduplicated noun,the extent adverb,the Ba sentence the repetitivequestions and so on.At last,the thesis provides several grammatical examples.It is the fundamental of macroscropical dialectology research to investigate a specific dialect. Under the theoretical guidance of linguistics and dialectology, it isobjectively analyzed the phonological,lexical and grammatical materials gathered onSanyuan dialect in this thesis.Through objectively record the synchronic state ofSanyuan dialect,provide a lively linguistic reality for people to understand Sanyuandialect.At the same time, this thesis filled a vacancy in research of Sanyuan dialect, andenriched the research results of Shaanxi dialect.
