The sentence patterns of "rather take A but not B" and "better to take A but not B" are complex sentence for expressing willing of take or not. Usages of these patterns are always a very difficult part in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The thesis combined the Chinese ontological theory and the research theory of the second language acquisition on basis of considering individual difference and took research and analyzed behaviors of Kazakhstan students who had already experienced the patterns in China for Chinese learning, as well as giving some specific teaching advices according to results of the research.The thesis includes six chapters. The first chapter is introduction, mainly introduced the background, content, method, respondents of the selected topic as well as the dividing factor of the respondents, the origin of the corpus, meaning of the research, the innovation part of the research and many other aspects. The second chapter is about summarizing of the research which mainly expounds the current results by ontological theory research and the research for the second language acquisition. The third chapter is for research analysis which mainly analyzes the acquisition of the basic form and meaning of complex sentences of the aforementioned patterns, the relevance between item A and B, the corresponding transformation relations and other aspects. In this chapter the ability of students for translating from their mother tongue to Chinese will be discussed further, as well as the avoidance, preference and correctness of the patterns. The fourth chapter is for results and all results would be concluded generally by two aspects including individual differences and specific content of the research. The fifth chapter is for advising, and all specific advice with aforementioned research would be listed in this chapter and the last chapter is for conclusion that indicating the disadvantage of the thesis and giving the further direction for developing.
