Shanxian Dialect Phonetic Research

Shanxian dialect is classified the Zhongyuan Mandarin of Fenhe section.Located at the border of Shanxi(Qin)、Shanxi(Jin) and Henan(Yu),it shows a Hybrid state.,With its distinguished character,the main phonetic features of Shanxian is accordant to Fenhe section.Based on thorough field work,this paper offers a comprehensive description of the dialect on phonetic system and its character through synchronic portray,horizontal and historical comparison.Besides,my research further compares Shanxian dialect with its surrouding areas,to explore its own phonetic characteristics.Basically,the paper can be subdivided into five parts.Part one is the introduction,which briefly depicts the basic facts of Shanxian,an overview of the current study status on Shanxian dialect and internal divisions of its phonetic system.Meanwhile,it is highlighted that the east is the focus of this paper.In part two,the phonetic system is dealt with,which discuss the vocality,rhythem and the tune of the dialect in detail.The analysis of the principles of the phonetic change is constructed upon the previous division.Part three studies the homophones of the dialect.Part four makes a comparison between dialect pronunciations and mid-ancient Chinese,by comparing the dialectical system of Shanxian and the phonetic system in Guang yun,exploring the principle of the evolutionary process of Shanxian dialect.In the last part,it compares the Shanxian dialect with its surrouding areas.
