Nantian Town was subordinate to two different countries taking1946as theboundary: before1946it was subordinate to Lishui Municipality, Qingtian Country.From1946to the present it belongs to Wenzhou Municipality, Wencheng Country.Nantian dialect and Qingtian dialect both belong to the Chuqu part of Wu dialect.While Wencheng dialect belongs to the Oujiang part of Wu dialect. Because thereason of political and location, Nantian dialect has the transition features of Chuqupart and Oujiang part. This article mainly describes the phonetic system of Nantiandialect. Firstly this article comare Nantian dialect with Qingtian dialect andWencheng dialect from initials, fanals and tones. Then, compare the medieval soundsystem with Nantian dialect. Lastly make a special study of tone.Thus to obtain arelatively compete phonetics features of Nantian dialect.This article has five chapters:Chapter One introduces the geography, the historical conditions, the previousstudies and own research of Nantian dialect briefly.Chapter Two describes the general situation and phonetic system of Nantiandialect.Chapter Three compares Nantian dialect with Qingtian dialect and Wenchengdialect from the point of initials, finals and tones to get the similareties anddifferences.Chapter Four compares Nantian dialect with the medieval sound system anddraws the corresponding relationships.Chapter Four is the special studies of tones, including the experimental analysisand the tone sandhi of two words.Chapter Five is the epilogue part, which points out the insignificance thatremains to improve.Through the systematic investigation and detailed description, this article gets the phonetic features of Nantian dialect preliminary, including the phonetic system,the relationship with the surrounding dialects and the corresponding relationshipwith the medieval sound.
