Three records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin is the collection of three legendary stories written by writers of East Jin dynasty about piously believing Kwan-yin and the believer’s invoking help to Kwan-yin came true, including the seven stories of records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin,written by Fu Liang, East Jin dynasty, the ten sequel stories of records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin,written by Zhang Yan,the sixty-nine sequel stories of records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin, written by Lu Gao. These three legendary stories collections about the invocation to Kwan-yin came true were first written and sorted out by them, the whole book’s content is abundant and stories’space varies from each other, but all of the stories depicted the heroes were under a helpless condition, then they piously invoked Buddha and trusted the supernatural force of Budhisattva and they at last received the help from Kwan-yin. The event which written in the book reflects the language using condition of that time at some degree.This paper intends to make a carding and conclusion to the vocabulary system of the original work with studying of the book of Kwan-yin, meanwhile investigating the using trait of words in the book. firstly making a systematic investigation to the records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin, aiming at making a detailed understanding of it, especially the words particularly existing in Six Dynasty Period, as well as Buddhism words, polysyllabic words, categorical words and vulgar words, so as to describe the skeleton of the fierce change of vocabulary system of Six Dynasty Period more or less.This paper includes five chapters. Chapter one, in this part I mainly discoursed upon the proper noun of Buddhism theory and Buddhism supernatural power, the related adjectives and verbs about piously and sincerely believing Kwan-yin, the unique Buddhism words about pure land and recurrent of cause and effect.Meanwhile, I concluded the source and application of these words. Chapter two, I would start with defining and analyzing the unique words of Six Dynasty Period, utilizing the speculative knowledge to analyze the words of the origin work with the feature of that time concretely. Chapter three: this part I would carry out analysis and study to the neologies and neologism exist in three records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin to regard the great Chinese Dictionary as a standard. Finding the words not collected, collected lately and newly collected in the great Chinese Dictionary can offer a favor to the compilation, collection of neology and neologism and explanation of words’meaning of voluminous dictionaries such as the great Chinese Dictionary, this also contributes to adding the supplementary of material to arrange the ancient documents and materials, especially the Buddhist scriptures translated into Chinese. By tracing back and getting to the root of part of the words at my best,Ⅰ would reach the outline of vocabulary system in records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin. Chapter four, this part would analyze polysyllabic and categorical words by applying methods of induction and probe, then to analyze the constitution modes of polysyllabic words and the formation and inner differences of categorical words of original work. Here, I especially stressed the complexity of the evolvement of language and vocabulary, as well as the evolvement mode and detail, aimed at devoting shallow personal idea to the theory of lexical study. Chapter five, to compare three records of coming true of Buddhisattva Kwan-yin with Qi Min Yao Shu, started from the regional usage difference to probe the words difference of Northern and Southern Chinese dialect in Wei Jin Period and put forward the common place of Northern and Southern Chinese dialect under the overall situation of words fiercely change, this would provide convincing proof to the study of Chinese lexical history.
