This study aims to clarify the significance of the combination of art therapy and art education and proves the importance of adding art therapy to art education to the cultivation of students’ complete personality and healthy psychology.Firstly the present situation in this field is defined in the article.Then based on the surveys on art education of high schools in Nanjing City and Nantong City,this article elaborates the necessity and importance of the integration of art therapy and art education.In addition, ti is expounded that under the background of examination-oriented education,the adolescents’ pressure and anxiety become intenser.Therefore,it is necessary to adjust their psychology moderately.The study mainly applies empirical research,and collects some typical cases,which reflects the problems in the course of psychological conformation.As a result,it is an irreversible trend of developing therapy-orientded art education to meet the students’need.Secondly,I focus my study on the teaching method of applying art therapy to art education and have designed several teaching cases as well as attempted it in conventional teaching.Finally,I conclude the effect and reflection of the research.Besides,the article puts forward some feasible proposals in order to prompte the development of therapy-orientded art education.
