Intermediate students learning Chinese as the second language often encounter a problem:It is easy for them to make good single sentences, but they cannot express some sentences in connection into the text successfully. Their expression is not logical Chinese language, but some of the simple sentences together. This limits language communication capabilities of students learning Chinese greatly. The intermediate students have already learned certain amount of vocabulary and basically grammar, The main task for them is to express text cohesion correctly. With text cohesion as directing theory, this paper applies error analysis and description analysis to explore the oral cohesion errors of the Interlanguage of Chinese undergraduate third-year Japanese and Korean students in International Cultural Exchanges School of Fudan University. This paper is mainly made up of five chapters. Chapter One describes the significance of choosing this topic and research method. Chapter Two introduces the related theories about text and text cohesion. Chapter Three is based on the corpus. This part classifies the four textual cohesion parts:ellipsis, reference, conjunction, logical connection. Chapter Four analyzes the causes and influential factors from the following aspects:the interference of the native language, factor of the target language and randomization, which is reflected mainly from its relation with the speaker’s speaking habit and mental state in the oral communication. Chapter Four also puts forward some constructive suggestions on the reform of teaching approaches to raising the proficiency of Chinese textual teaching to foreign students. Chapter Five is the conclusion part. It summarizes the achievement and the shortcomings of the study and proposals for further research.
