" Difficult to learn Chinese characters " is a common problem for international students, especially for those from non-Chinese Cultrual Circle and Writing Error often shows in writing. From the written corpus of international students, we can see Chinese character writing errors are common, therefore it is essential to have a detailed study.In this paper, I chose the written corpus from two classes of intermediate level, classified and analyzed it; meanwhile handed out questionnaires of Chinese character learning to students of intermediate level so as to know the situation of their Chinese character learning from another side. After integration from the two surveys, I tried to find reasons for these errors, explore approaches to reduce writing errors, and put forward some recommendations for reference on international Chinese character teaching.There are three chapters in this paper:Chapter1:Instruction. In this part, I clarified the purpose, significance, contents, methods of this survey and did a literature review of Chinese character and teaching.Chapter2:Data collation and attribution analysis of the survey. This is the main part of this paper. It is the comprehensive analysis of the written corpus and Chinese character learning. It includes three sections:First, introduce basic information of interviewees and the corpus,explain classification criteria, compare errors of each kind in detail and find reasons; Second, describe the aim and range of questionnaire and carefully collect and analyze the questionnaires; Third, make a comprehensive attribution in the light of corpus and questionnaires.Chapter3:Teaching thoughts and outlook. In this chapter, I tried to give some teaching suggestions according to the result from the above, and look ahead international Chinese character teaching.Finally, the conclusion and appendix. The conclusion is a part to summarize the whole ideas and have a further reflection on this survey. The appendix contains tables of Chinese character writing error classification, Chinese character writing errors and Chinese character learning questionnaire.I tried to combine Error Theory with error cases, classify errors and explore reasons in the way of assembling data and handing questionnaires, finally discovered that strokes, components, shapes and pronunciations are main factors of errors, furthermore proposed teaching strategies as consolidating basic strokes, component conjuction teaching, pictophonetic character teaching and comparison training...
