Film And Television Base Development In Yunnan

The film base, as an essential part of the film industry, plays a positive role in promoting the development of both film industry and tourism in China. In the background of substantially developing cultural industries and the wave of nation-widely constructing film bases, Yunnan’s film bases catch a good chance to develop. Yunnan, taking advantages of its unique natural and cultural resources, constructs a series of various film bases and has three main modes of developing film bases in the forms of theme parks, theme communities and scenic spots, in which Dali Dragon Film Studio, Tea-Horse Road Film Base in Shuhe of Lijiang, Yulongwan Southeast Asia Film Studio in Kunming, Cuishan Film studio in Qujing and West Yunnan Documentary Filming Base are more influential.The poor management of the completed film bases has been quite common in Yunnan. In this paper, the writer uses the theories of Industry Cluster and Economic Growth Pole the as the main research tools to study Yunnan film bases. This paper, through a lot of document and field researches and comparative analysis, studies the development process and status quo of Yunnan film bases in depth. After studying the development process, the status quo, and the successful patterns of the film bases in China, this paper explores the problems in the development of Yunnan film bases, trying to find a new route for their development.In the study, many problems of the development of Yunnan film bases can be seen. Yunnan is abundant in natural and cultural resources, which provide unique conditions for the development of the film bases in Yunnan. Therefore, Yunnan totally can utilize such advantages to vigorously develop its film bases. This paper gives some suggestions for that:Yunnan can take a road of co-operation to create a complete film base industry clusters by playing the advantages in its resources, and with the government support and private capital investment; Yunnan can vigorously develop film tourism with the help of its tourism development.
