The ecological philosophy is put forward during the process of constructing the well-rounded development of a harmonious socialist society. It aims to ensure comprehensive, balanced and sustainable development and ultimately a sound environment where man and nature live in harmony. This model by Comrade Hu Jingtao is put forward on the basis of the communists’practical results on development. It is the combination of the Chinese national conditions and the wisdom of great people in the past. It is the essence of the Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of "Three Represents". It is the latest achievements of systems of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It is the philosophical sublimation of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics.This thesis will start with the historical background and elaborate the inheritance and innovation of this ecological idea by analyzing the scientific basis and theoretical sources of Hu Jingtao’s ecological philosophy.
