Theory Of Strategy Of The Korean Peninsula And Its Influence In The United States

The Korean peninsula is one of the hot topics of the international communitytoday, including the north Korean nuclear issue, the north Korea developmentproblems, intense confrontation of the north and south, unified, etc.The Koreanpeninsula is also the intersection of interests of four powers—China, America, Japan,and Russia,which are increasing for the region strategic concern after the end of thecold war.The United States is the only superpower in the post-war period,which in theKorean peninsula have significant benefits.For maintenance of globalleadership,America also increased in the Korean peninsula strategic investmentthrough the redefined alliance, adjusted military deployment,and added militarycooperation so as to construct the defence chain.From the perspective of theinternational strategic element,the United States to Korean peninsula strategycomprises of the national interests,the strategic targets,the strategic environment,thestrategy decision-making,the strategic modes and so on.We think that the UnitedStates in the Korean peninsula have three kinds of interests, namely geopoliticalinterests, national security interests and ideological interests. In order to maintainregional interests, the United States maybe hope to maintain the situation of Nounified and no wars , so as to keep in the area the frontier exist to provide an excuse.After the cold war,the previous governments have always taken the containmentstrategy as a fundamental Korean peninsula strategy.When the international situationhas intensified, the United States usually takes contact with alleviation policy，but thestrategic thinking has not changed, which is still the cold war thinking andcontainment thinking.From the perspective of international strategy,it helps to grasp the objectives andstrategic direction of the foreign policy systematically. Aimed at understanding bestthe relationship between the United States and the Korean peninsula,we put forwardthree kinds of models,which is power political,cultural concept,and institutionalnorm.It has produced certain effect on the regional relations,especially therelationship between big powers to implement the strategy.In a sense, it determinesregional peace and stability between the Korean peninsula and the whole northeastAsia.This kind of influence to China also has direct practical significance.Therefore, only the correct understanding and grasping the evolution law of theKorean peninsula strategy, can we better make the Korean peninsula policy andposition of our country, and make positive contribution to the east Asia and even thewhole world peace and development.
