Since Chinese economic had reformed, a large number ofrural-urban migrants moved into urban areas, and then composed alarge group. This year rural-urban migrants make great contributionto state economy, and promote China’s urbanization process. Butthey are confronted with many problems. First of all, the householdregistration system restricts rural-urban migrants within informallabor market, which cause them in the bottom of society for long time.Secondly, the imperfection of the relevant laws and regulationscannot guarantee rural-urban migrants’lawful rights. Thirdly, humancapital begins more importantly with the marketization progress,while rural-urban migrants’human capital storage is generally low,which resulted them to be employed of low level occupation andunstable employment. In short, rural-urban migrants as vulnerablegroup that gains low-income and participates in hard physical labor,also have suffered some unfair treatment in their life. Therefore, workstress has been plagued of rural-urban migrants’life. In addition,financial crisis has influenced China in recent year, which reduceslow-level jobs in the cities and also causes inflation. So work stress ofrural-urban migrants has become an increasingly serious problem.work stress is deeply influence on individual, organization and social:on one hand, work stress is direct influence the individual’s physicalhealth, mental health and behavior; on the other hand, workstress has a close relationship with organization’s performance, jobsatisfaction and turnover intention. But there has few researches forrural-urban migrants’work stress in China at the moment, so it ismore significance to research it. This paper analyzes the status ofrural-urban migrants’work stress, study the relationship betweenhuman capital and work stress, and then to know what factors ofhuman capital can significantly impact work stress. Meanwhile thispaper also analysis the moderating effects of job discussion networkand work adjustment, and understands what moderating effects theyhave. Finally try to give some advices based on all the aboveresearch.This paper uses the data of 2011 rural-urban migrants’development survey which is carried out by the institute ofEconomics and Management in Shanxi Normal University. The resultsare as below: (1) Most migrants’work stress is reported to be lowerthan average, only 32.4% of them are above average. (2)Differentwork seniorities and different monthly incomes have significantdifferent work stress. (3)Three dimensions of human capital onpersonal characteristic have significant difference. But for workcharacteristic, different monthly incomes has significant differenteducation, different work seniorities and different working hourshave significant different training, and different working hours hassignificant different heath. (4)For personal characteristic, differentgenders have significant different job discussion network; for workcharacteristic, different work seniorities and different working hourshave significant different job discussion network. (5) Different workseniorities and different monthly income have significant differentwork stress. (6)In human capital, Education is an important factorinfluencing rural-urban migrants’work stress, i.e. rural-urban migrants with primary education and illiteracy have more work stressthan the others, those with high school and above have more workstress than those with middle school. (7) Job discussion network isan important moderator between human capital and work stress. Forrelationship between education and work stress, job discussionnetwork has a positive moderating effect. For relationship betweenhealth and work stress, job discussion network has a negativemoderating effect. (8) Work adjustment has significant moderatingeffect on relationship between work training and work stress. Workadjustment has a positive moderating effect on relationship betweenwork training experience and work stress.
