The Challenges And Measures For The Survival And Development For The New Generation Of The Migrant Workers Dependent On The Newers In Chongqing

The survival and development of the new generation of migrant workers have attracted much more attention in government and the academic community. Compared with the previous generation of migrant workers, great changes have taken place in the education, farming experience, self-awareness and expectations, rights awareness, career choices for the newers. However, due to the existing urban-rural dual structure, there are many prominent problems in the survival and development for the newers under the context of accelerating the economic-social transformation, and constructing the harmonious society. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate a series of measures to adapt the changes of the newer under the principle of the urban-rural dual structure.Section one:The importance for investigating the survival and development of the new generation of migrant workers. By analyzing the realistic background, the significance of this paper is introduced. Here, we put forward four advantages to demonstrate the significance for this paper.Section two:The characteristics of the newer. Based on the concept of the migrant workers and the newer, we describe the characteristics of the newer in Chongqing by analyzing the investigating data.Section three:The challenges and the caused reasons for the survival and development of the newer in Chongqing. The challenges for the newer are mainly showed in employment, housing, medical care, incoming, adaptability, consciousness of participation and rights safeguarding. From our research, these unexpected problems are evidently caused by the weakness of the urban-rural dual structure, the lack of the execution of the household registration system reform policy, the imperfection of the social security system, the discrimination on the employment, the contradiction between the reality and expectation of the migrant workers and the cultural and lifestyle differences between urban and rural areas. Section four:The suggestions and measures to solve the problems for the survival and development of the newer. From our discussion, we suggest that we should improve the surreal and development situation for the newer in Chongqing by balancing urban and rural development, narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas, invocating the institution, constructing a fair platform, developing the level of public services, bettering the social security mechanism, improving the adaptability of the newer and so on.
