A Study Of Countermeasures For Migrant Worker Social Security Problem In Zhengzhou

With the development of industrialization and urbanization of China,Chinese migrant workers develop themselves as a sudden appearance. Theyfloated into big cities with a comparatively high annual growth rate to make agreat contribution to urban construction, and become the main force of urbandevelopment. However, restricted by their living habits, material conditions, andthe mode of traditional thought, migrant workers always suffer the lowercultural level, the lack of professional skills and the backward thinking model,which induced them engaged in the industry mainly with physical labor andservice, such as the construction industry, catering industry, household service,sanitation, commercial retail, and so on.Due to the duality of the identity of the migrant workers, namely, they arethe city workers but still can not get away from peasant background, the migrantworkers are not included in the national social security system, and theemployers tend to cost savings maximization and reluctant to join kinds ofsocial insurances for them. Additionally, due to their ill-education and lowlyprotect consciousness, they engage in insurance, difficult, tired, painful, dirtyworks but without corresponding protections of national social insurance.In the process of socialist harmonious society development, the phenomena,such as interest impairments, the ineffective protection of legitimate rights,unreasonable reward for hard work, unfair treatment, insult, abandonment fromthe society, are not in step with the construction of socialist harmonious society.Therefore, the government and the society should give more concern on issuesabout the social security of migrant workers, only in this way can createwonderful notes for socialist harmonious society construction.This thesis is consisted by six chapters. In this thesis, we chooses the migrant workers in city Zhengzhou, Henan province, as research object, andanalyses the problems in migrant workers social security according to theircurrent situations of survival condition and social security, and we also putforward the suggestions and countermeasures to problem of how to providebetter social security for migrant workers.The first chapter is the introduction, in which we mainly introduce thebackground, topic significance, the objects and method involved in the subject,the domestic relevant research dynamic and the research framework.In the second chapter, we describe the concepts of migrant workers andsocial security, and the importance of establishing migrant workers socialsecurity system.In the third chapter, we present the results of analysis for current situationof migrant workers social security in Zhengzhou through questionnaire survey,and make the readers understand more clearly about the extremely poor survivalsituation and the level of protection of migrant workers.In the fourth chapter, we describe the top issues facing the migrant workerssocial security in Zhengzhou, and present the facing difficulties andpredicaments and give deeply analysis for the reasons of that, which lay afoundation for the following given countermeasures.In the fifth chapter, we present some countermeasures and suggestions toprotect migrant workers’social security entitlements in Zhengzhou, which isthrough by eliminating the urban and rural dual structure, establishing socialsecurity system that conforms to migrant workers current situation, andperfecting the macroscopic policies of migrant workers employment.The sixth chapter presents the conclusions and describes the trend ofmigrant workers social security.
