Along with China’s socio-economic development and nation-building, the concept of "Project Migrants" was introduced to the public within the vision. Regardless of the Three Gorges project which attracted worldwide attention and Xiaolangdi Reservoir Project, a large number of immigrants were produced in the construction process. As the involuntary transfer population,The social capital of projects immigrants usually have undergone a major change and reconstruction in the migration resettlement process, which directly impact on the state of their employment after move into the resettlement places. This study focused on the employment situation of the projects immigrants when living in the resettlement places, trying to reveal the reconstruction of the social capital of immigrants how it affects their re-employment status and explore the possibility of social work intervention which combined the strengths perspective. This study selected the survey place, P town, located in Nanyang City, Henan Province, which is the resettlement of the middle route project of South to North Water Transfer Project. The researchers had entered the town for three times in November2011, January2012, integrated use of interviews, observation, questionnaires and other research methods to collected the data. The main findings and conclusions of this study are mainly the following three aspects:1. At this stage, immigrants’social capital which combined with their social network has big fluctuations. The reduction and destruction of the remaining amount has affected immigrants in regular re-employment. Of which lack of capital within the status of relations, reducing of the friends and family network interaction frequency, the destruction of the financial support network have a significant effect to achieve the goal of re-employment for the immigrants. Moreover, the fuzzy own identity, immigration status and cultural identity of the placement to continuing to fall to a certain extent affect there-employment of immigrants.2. Immigrant all had high degree of re-employment needs, which emerged diversified types. Hampered by the way of the original use of social networks and social capital, to attach the employment, the social work intervention under the strength perspective should concentrate on changing the low utilization of immigration capacity and asset within the community, the absence of government’s aid policy and the public service functions, the low degree of integration within the community and community network of social relations, the improper re-employment resource utilization by immigrants themselves, as the core issues of the contradiction. 3. According to the social capital and employment status of project immigrants, the building of intervention system under the strengths Perspective rural social work is necessary to highlight the core of the dominant position of immigrants, focus on the strengths and resources hold by immigrants and their communities, Strengthen the placement within the community’s social network reconstruction and recovery of immigrant social capital. The policy making, public service delivery and placement of community development must comply with this principle and focus on people-oriented and sustainability. It’s truly to promote the long-term prosperity and stability of the resettlement communities and the development of the project immigrants.
