With the continuous development of society, the focus of our government functions are transferred to the social management and services, enhance administrative efficiency has become the theme of the current Chinese government. Administrative performance monitoring as an important part of the administrative supervision, has a very important role to improve administrative oversight and promotion of administrative organs, to improve their work style, improve efficiency and service quality, and promote the development of economic construction and social undertakings, and to maintain social stability, has become the important work of local governments and administrative supervision organs.This paper first from the start of the connotation of the administrative performance monitoring, carried out a comprehensive analysis for the basic concept of the administrative performance monitoring through discrimination of related concepts, the main contents of the basic principles and basic procedures, set up to solve the line-related issues to provide the theoretical basis. Second, the current status quo of China’s administrative performance monitoring is reviewed.
