From Function To Category:a New Essentialism Of Ideological And Political Education

This topic reviews all kinds of views on the essence of ideological and political education and proposes that the level of research on it is far from it really deserves for the fact the research is still remaining arrested at "function". Therefore, the thesis suggests a transformation of thought in the understanding of theological and political education: from function to category. First, the thesis, basing itself on the present research findings and objective practices, probes into how the essence of ideological and political education forms, thus points out the problems existing in the research, and explains why the essence should be researched from the dimension of category. Secondly, the thesis puts emphasis on the survey of the essence research of ideological and political education and on this basis pushes forward thought-reconstruction:macroscopic, the middle and microscopic. The thesis deduces that the common essence of ideological and political education hides itself in the back of kernel category, that is:to seek behavioral agreement and make agreed behaviors. Thirdly, the thesis elaborates on the concept, connotation and common essence of ideological and political education, and believes that the existence of common essence should embody the kernel category the ideological and political education concerns. Meantime, in order to fully expound on the topic, the author, particularly, makes a brief analysis of the essence and formation of it from the history of ideological and political education of Communist Party of China, and draws the conclusion that the essence of ideological and political education is to seek agreement on behaviors and do the agreed behaviors.
