The view of nature is one of the important fields in philosophy study, currently, thecontemporary value of Marx and Engels’ view of nature is the hot issue of commonconcerns in philosophy. In this article, by study of Engels’ view of nature, development andits contemporary value, we provide guidance in order to enrich and develop Marxismnatural philosophy, to deal with the relationship between human and natural, as well asChina’s socialist modernization.This article is divided into three chapters:The first chapter describes the formation of Engels’ view of nature. First, peopledevote their constant pursuit in the scientific view of nature research with thedevelopment of social productive forces. Next, through the analysis of the historicalbackground and theoretical origins from Engels’ view of nature, it criticizes the modernGerman natural philosophy, and describes process of the Engels’ view of nature formationin details.The second chapter explains the main contents of Engels’ view of nature. Engelsbelieved that nature is in constant motion; nature is dialectical development; human natureis the product in development to a certain historical stage; man and nature areinterdependence; society is the unity of man and nature; the practice is the link of "originalnature" and "human nature"; social system change is an effective way of harmony withnature.The third chapter discusses the contemporary value of Engels’ view of nature. Fromnotes of discord of man and nature, we show that the dialectical thinking of Engels’ view ofnature, which directs the implementation of the sustainable development of population,economic, social and ecological environment for China to implement the scientific conceptof development thinking, has important theoretical significance and practical significance.
