The Analysis Of Aging Industry In The Perspective Of Service Trade

Since China stepped into the21st century, it has suffered a lot from quick ageing. Different kinds of nursing service have been developed in China, although they have meet the needs of old people to some extent, there also exist lots of problems. With the transformation of society and economy, great changes happened to both qualitative and quantitative requirements for services to support the old.The improvement of the nursing service in China has always been the focus of the government and the society. This paper summarizes the experiences of the elderly welfare system and nursing service system in developed countries. And also, it introduces the current situation of China and makes a comparison to developed countries. Then this paper uses the data from a survey of Chinese old people to analyze the demographic and economic characteristics of the old people, and introduce their health status. Under the consideration of imbalanced urban and rural development, both the elderly career and elderly industry are suggested to be promoted. The government should provide the fundamental nursing service, and promote the marketization of the elder industry at the same time. This paper suggests that we should make full use of our comparative advantages to get fully involved into the international service trade, which will promote the development of our elder industry. This paper also provides some constructive advices on developing international elderly service trade in China.
