A Research On The Necessity Of Consummating The Urban Old-age Service Standard In China

China's aging population has become a serious social issue since the country officially became an aging society in 1999. With the rapid increase of the aging population, the aging market is becoming more and more prospers. For instance, there is a huge improvement in the number and the quality of the nursing homes for old-age people. To guarantee the healthy development of the aging market, the government has constituted a series of relevant macroscopic policies, which especially focus on providing standardized service to old-age people in nursing homes. However, the present Old-age Service Standard is not perfect. It is not sufficient in providing effective guidance and supervision for the development of aging market, especially in the standardization of the nursing homes. Base on a research on domestic and international Old-age Service Standards, and a full consideration on the current situation and problems of domestic aging market, the essay tries to provide some perspective on the development direction of Old-age Service Standard. Taking the international experiences, the successfully achievements of some domestic standardized nursing homes, and our national reality into consideration, the essay provides some suggestion on improving the Old-age Service Standard in urban nursing homes.
