Shanghai, which has taken the lead in urbanization in china, is one of the most important gathering areas of the floating population. In recent years, increased family flows and marriage between Shanghailander and external population have resulted in rapid growth of female from other places in shanghai. However, along with most floating population caught in the dilemma of "semi-urban" and "marginalized", most female migrants lead a poor life and are facing the risk of being infringed and being criminal, which stands in sharp contrast to their contribution in urban development. The deterioration of this situation will be extremely detrimental to the economic development and urbanization, and even the transformation of social structure in Shanghai. Therefore, it is inevitably required to promote male and female migrant to integrate into Shanghai city.Based on the review of a large number of domestic and international research results and practices on social inclusion measurement, this study taking the female migrant in shanghai as the study object, intends to probe the current situation and the influencing factors of social integration of this group. The study firstly constructs the index system of social integration for female migrant, which includes five dimensions: employment integration, right security, life integration, socialization integration and psychological integration. Then secondly, a social integration index reflecting the whole level of social integration of female migrant in Shanghai will be built by adopting factor analysis method. The statistic result shows that most female migrants are confined to a low integration level. The performance on five dimensions is not very balanced, with higher performance in psychological and life integration dimension and lower in right security and socialization integration dimension. For further analysis of the influencing factors of female migrants’social integration, a multiple regression model is used to explore the impact of personal and institutional factors.Ultimately, based on the result of descriptive statistics and regression analysis, the study attempts to make suggestions to press ahead female migrant integrating into Shanghai society.
