Mass media has developed quickly since the21century, Today is an information age, People’s daily life are surrounded by all kinds of media and information,so people need to have the ability to face, interpretation and judgment of all kinds of information, then choose the helpful information effectively, only in this way can we improve ourselves and coordinated with social development.We have noticed from the reach date that in our country the reach of media literacy has begun and has had some results. But they are mainly for college students, middle school students and primary school students, farmers, etc. There are few people to focus on the urban women of The hui nationality, and the studies are more in quantitative analysis, but not qualitative research.In this paper I will investigate and show the current situation of The hui nationality urban women’s media literacy through the questionnaire survey and the depth interview. After the survey we noticed that these audiences’media literacy are not in a high level, In the media contact, they present a certain universality on medium of cognition, media use ability and so on, they are lack of media literacy as a whole, But there are some exceptions, we can see in the study that the media literacy is related to personal age, level of education, occupation, income, etc. this paper has show the current situation of The hui nationality urban women’s media literacy,it can provide the reference data for the media literacy education research.
