With its constant globalization, professionalization and commercialization, tennis of China has gained unprecedented development in recent years, which became more obvious with Zheng Jie and Li Na’s entering of the semi-finals in 2010 Australian Tennis Open and Li Na’s striking to finals in 2011 Australian Tennis Open. They thus already achieved the best results in the history of Asian athletes’participation in professional tennis despite of their failing to win the championship. The repeated achievements of Chinese female tennis players have greatly motivated the development of Chinese tennis and thus attracted more young tennis players to do tennis training in many cities of our country, and Liaoning Province is no exception. Nevertheless, as a province strong in sports, Liaoning has been relatively underdoing in tennis when compared with other sports such as table tennis and badminton in this province, which can be attributed to a variety of problems existent in the teenager tennis in Liaoning province. Therefore, it is vital importance to carry out a thorough survey and analysis of the current cultivation of teenager tennis talents in reserve in Liaoning and to come up with corresponding strategies. With such research methods as document date, interview, questionnaire investigation and math analysis, this paper investigates and analyzes the athletes and coaches participating in Liaoning Tennis Team and the 11th Liaoning Games from the following perspectives: the resource allocation of tennis court in Liaoning province, the selection of athletes, the trigger of athletes and their family members’participation, and athlete’s learning-training paradox, their training modes and their way-out in the future. After an intensive research into the current cultivation of teenager tennis talents in reserve in Liaoning Province, we find that there are a number of problems existent in Liaoning tennis sports with which the following are the major ones:1. The limited tennis courts and low training conditions in certain cities of Liaoning Province.2.The unscientific selection of teenager tennis talents in reserve.3.The unitary training system of teenager tennis talents in reserve.4.The imperfection of central operation systems in tennis management and the irrationality of the competitive systems.Accordingly, taking into consideration of the actual conditions of Liaoning Province, we proposed some countermeasures to ensure a healthy and sustainable cultivation of the tennis talents in reserve:1.The operation systems of Liaoning’s tennis central management should be perfected.2.The training conditions of Liaoning’s tennis sports should be improved by the means of government’s greater Investment in tennis events and extensive absorption of social funds.3.Teenager tennis players’selection and training should be more scientific.4.The cultivation modes of talents in reserve should be diversified.5.Publicity should be strengthened so as to create a positive training atmosphere for teenager players in Liaoning.6.Efforts should be made to enhance coaches’training so as to constantly improve their professional ability and teaching level.
