With the development of the society, the growing speed of Chinese ageing population is becoming progressively faster. The increase of Chinese ageing population has made the health of ageing people a focused problem which draws the attention of the whole society.“Ageing is beginning from the legs first”, so, keeping the good stability while walking becomes the main issue which can influence the health of the ageing people. Taijiquan and vigorous walking have the advantages of smooth, leisure, moderate intensity of exercise, easy-lasting training, not easily to be wounded and low in danger to catch the eye of more and more people, especially the ageing people. Many researchers have analyzed the Taijiquan and vigorous walking in the view of Chinese medicine and the physiology, realizing that Taijiquan and vigorous walking have the body-building effect which can decrease the disease and prevent the illness and ageing, as for the reason why this body-building effect can happen, relative research is limited. Because of this reason, first purpose of this article is to compare these two kinds of movements in order to find out which movement in which way can produce the positive effect, finally to instruct the ageing people to do the exercising in the more scientific way that can enhance the stability, postpone the ageing speed of lower limbs, raise the life quality and decrease the medical expanse for falling. Second is trying to let people know about the body-building effect of Taijiquan and vigorous walking through this research and to provide the theoretical reference and realistic evidence for the development of Taijiquan and vigorous walking. This article uses the methods of literature, test, mathematical statistics and video analysis to give a series of test to the two different groups of ageing people which are almost the same at the age, height, weight, living environment and living habit but the excising event. The test is including the standing time of static balance, the stepping distance and stepping speed in every angle, the stepping frequency, stepping length and angle of every joint when people are normally walking. SPSS17.0 is used to analyze the testing data of two groups of ageing people. The following conclusions come into view: the standing time has the obvious discrepancy when two groups of ageing people were taken the static balance test of six standing poses and the standing time of Taijiquan group is obviously longer than vigorous walking group’s. The ability to control the body gravity in Taijiquan group is better than the vigorous walking group’s and the movement of the gravity in Taijiquan group is also smaller than vigorous walking group’s when the tests of both feet standing with eyes opened, one foot standing with one eye closed and both feet standing with the eyes closed are undertaken. For exercising Taijiquan needs to lower the center of gravity so that the single leg would take the body weight for a longer time, and to focus the mind and eyes moving with the hands. In the process of walking with normal speed, the Taijiquan group could raise the thigh higher than the vigorous walking group at the very moment that left foot touched the ground and right foot leaved the ground. The Taijiquan group could fold the knee tighter than vigorous waking group because so many movements are requesting the single foot support the whole body and the other foot leave the ground to step forward or backward, the height of the foot leaving the ground when people exercise Taijiquan was higher than vigorous walking and the time for leaving and touching the ground was also longer than vigorous waking, so the hip joint got the greater exercises. Besides, both legs were respectively in the process of single knee bending to support the weight, so exercising Taijiquan could let the knee joint get the better exercises to keep the good bending and stretching.
