Study On The User Requirement Analyses Of Construction Management Information System For Universities

In recent years, Chinese universities’ capital construction has great changesalong with the speeding up development of higher Education.The project has evolvedfrom traditional simple teaching,residency and experiment structure to huge,complicated, multifunctional,hi-tech constrcution.These construction projects includeseval characteristics,such as tremendous investment,complex technique,timelimit,multiple participants, information communicate difficulties,vast societyinfluence, etc.These changes bring grreat challenge to the university’s management ofthe construction projects.With the high speed development of modern computertechnology, communications technology and its broad application in the field ofcapital construction management,the informationization of infrastructure managementhas been a significant way to advance the management capability.Although themajority of universities are in the proecess of exploring the capital projects’management information system, there is still a gap between research and practice.the capability building in applying information technology for the constructionprojects needs urgent improvments.During develop the management information systerm, the demand analysis isthe most important and hardest tache in the system empolder process.Whether theinformation systems can be a success is largely denpendent on the quality of thedemand analysis.This paper will make a in-depth research on the user requirementanalysis of Tsinghua University construction management information systemempolder process.First,the author will start with the investigation of orgranizationstructure, function,operation system of Construction and Campus Planningoffice,Tsinhghua Univ.to obtain the objects or tasks of the management informationsystem. Seocond, the article will develop detailed demand report of the managementinformation systme based on the systematic research.Finally,the paper makessuggestions on the exisiting management inforamtion system by carefullyexamination on the demand anaylsis results. In all the process of the user requirementanalysis,the research implement various requirement analysis research methods,for example:interview,questionnaire inquiry,rapid prototyping method,etc.The author plans to seek the analysis methods of construction managementinformation system and the empolder thought of the information system, through thestudy and analysis of the Tsinghua University construction management informationsystem, Moreover, the research findings can be generalized and used by the othercounterpartners, to promote the progress of capital construction managementinformationization, to increase the work efficiency and make the capital constructionwork become more standardized and effective.
