Higher vocational education is an important part of higher educatio n and it plays a significant role in promoting the development of ec onomy and society. As reforming and opening-up, Chinese higher vo cational education got a fast development, but our education concep t,model of talent cultivation, teaching content and teaching method still keep in a certain backward condition. So the number and qua lity of cultivated talent is difficult to satisfy with economy building-up and society development。The Ministry of National Education, wh en making The Action to Vitalize Education in the 21st Century, point s out that higher education must be vigorously and steadily developed, e specially the higher vocational education. But as far as the present con ditions of our country is concerned. higher vocational education is stil l at the primary level, and has little right-made experience for consultat ion and reference. Look abroad we can notice that the higher vocational education of advanced countries began earlier and have higher level of r unning schools and that it has stored up plenty of experience that is wo rth our learning and consulting.The thesis mainly compares several typical models of talent c ultivation of higher vocational education in worldwide by using doc umentary method and comparative method。It comprehensively states the theory basis of the model of talent ultivation for higher vocat ional education. It provides the basic concept of the model of talent cultivation; then, based on the basis by analyzing the native and f oreign model of talent cultivation for engineering institutions, the th esis concludes its type and character, and make a analysis to model of talent cultivation.
