| Objective:One of the important aspects to evaluate the quality of education and teaching of colleges and universities is to evaluate teaching by students. Because of the specific characteristics of the course setting of the medical colleges and universities, the evaluation by students should have its own characteristics. This study was to probe the state of the "student evaluation of teaching" and the effects it produces, and through the analysis of the related factors to the result of the students’evaluation to reflect on our evaluation activity, locate the "students’evaluation" reasonably, and find out ways to improve the validity of the students’evaluation, that is to say, to improve the understanding to the students’evaluation of students and teachers, to design scientific form for the students’evaluation, to organize students to evaluate teaching strictly, to analysis the result of the evaluation scientifically, in order to avoid the interference factor of every aspect to make the evaluation more scientific, reasonable, to improve the positive effect of the evaluation and promote the steady increase of the quality of teaching of college and universities.Methods:Using the self-made general situation questionnaire, questionnaire of factors affecting students evaluating teaching and evaluation form of the quality of classroom teaching of Jining Medical College (used by students), to analyze the600students’ evaluation to the quality of classroom teaching from Clinical School, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, and Mental Medical School of Jining Medical College. The analysis of the statistic was using SPSS180. And The chi-square test, multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze many factors that affect the students’evaluation of teaching.Results:The evaluation to teaching by students was affected by many different factors. Among five factors, the biggest one was from teachers, the mean value was3.07, the second one was course factors, the smallest one was from the evaluation organization, the mean value was2.64. The effects of the five main factors were all in the neighborhood of3, were all bias general degree. The major influencing factors were:(1) Teaching Method (2) Teaching Effect (3) Teachers’Personality (4) Evaluation Scale. Teachers’professional title, the proportions of teachers’teaching, the nature of the course and examination mode, the time of the evaluation can also have certain effects. The other factors, eg. the first impressions to teachers, the teaching mode, the grade of students have smaller effects.Conclusions:The evaluation of the classroom teaching to the teachers in the medical colleges and universities is affected by many different factors. It is mainly about the factors from students, teachers and courses. When the students’ evaluation is carried on, the supervising institute should try to avoid the effect of these factors, thus to make fair and justice evaluation to teachers and make the students’ evaluation to teachers have a due effect. |
