The Research On Differentiation Of Grouping Order In Re-settlement Community

Following the increasing rapidity of urban construction, the problems of urbanrenewal are being into the vision of sociological research. In recent years, on behalf ofthe scholars, Professor Chen Yingfang has made lots of researches on thetransformation of shantytown, opening the prelude to this sensitive area of sociologyresearch. From the environmental point of view, shantytowns have become the mostimportant issue of urban construction; from the social perspective in the progress ofurban renewal transforming shantytowns means changing social structure in theregion. The research on transforming shantytowns should be in a “closed” chain,following the regularity of “removing, reconstructing, re-settling”, so as to achieve acomprehensive study of the topic. Most of the scholar paid more attention to theprocess of removing and ignored to study the re-settling. Based on the situation above,I chose the issue to explore the differentiation of grouping order in re-settlementcommunity.The H community of J city is a typical resettling case led by local government.Basing on the research of the particularity and re-adaptation of the resident, the authorpay attention to the differentiation between two groups, the differentiation rules is theinitial area the group come from and the differences on where they live, the twogroups have formed cognitive biases to each other. The phenomenon of group divisionmade two kinds of order differentiation, first one is statical order, the other one isstatical one which is being a tendency to enlarge the differentiation.Considering the special differentiation on the group order of H community, usingsociological research methods, such as questionnaire and in-depth interviews, I foundthe special phenomenon is resulted by following factors. For the first, thecontradiction between fairness of the policy and inequity of implementation; for thesecond, the colossal cognitive biases between the groups; for the third, the identitybased on estate widen the distance, upgrade the order differentiation; for the last, theabsence of community management, such as self-management and service.Therefore, based on the analysis on the elements of social culture, game of policeand economy and absence of community management, the study gives some advicesto improve the embarrassing situation of H community as follows. To reverse thetendency of order differentiation, policy supervision and assessment mechanisms must be set up; NGO should be introduced into the management of community topromote the communication; lastly, the positive identity to the community is a must tobe improve, and the organic integration should be fundamentally promoted.The structure of the paper is listed as follows.Part1: Chapter1and2. The background, key concepts, research methods and thestudies review are introduced in this part.Part2: Chapter3and4. It contains the introduction and specific circumstances ofH community, the analysis of the study will be in chapter4.Part3: Chapter5. The reason of order differentiation and the proposals to Hcommunity are in the list，and the further reflection on the re-construction ofshantytowns and the lack of the research.
