Junior high school is an important time of metacognition-forming. Teachersshould train students on relevant skills, which will both improve metacognition abilityand their studying ability. Cognition plays an important role in reading andmetacognition is important in cognition progress. Research on metacognition is a keypoint for teachers. When training sdutents’metacognintion ability, the main method isto training metacognition stratagy which will help the forming of cognition ability.This paper makes a full summarized research on reading teaching and theapplication of metacognition in reading teaching. The results are as following. Firstly,as the students growing, the level of an individual’s reading metacognition is growing,especially in the period from the first year in junior high school to the first year insenior high school. Secondly, research shows that the ability of reading metacognitionis positive correlated to the score in reading, in another word,a high-leveled readingmetacognition ability could improve reading scores. At last, metacognition skills canbe acquired by working hard. The conclusion is that training metacognition stratagy inreading is a short-cut of improving metacognition ability and learning skills. In juniorhigh school, when the metacognintion formning is in early stage, it is important forteachers to instruct students learning metacognition stratagy and improving learningskills.By doing a questionnaire survey, this paper makes a survey and result analyse onthe current situation of junior high school students in reading. The result shows thatsome students have little interest in reading and little use of monitoring stratagy andadjusting stratagy. The paper makes an interview with chinses teachers in junior highschool which reveals that some teachers have a vague cognition of metacognition andweak consiousness of stratagy. Most teachers’teaching mode is too simple and inflexible. The paper discusses the importance of metacognition stratagy, as well as theimportance of application.At last, the paper sums up a set of metacognition stratagy based on themetacognition theory and the new teaching standard. Teachers can introduce thismethod to students in reading training to help them learn study and read. This researchhas a deep discuss in metacognition stratagy, which aims to improve the teachingquality of reading training in junior high school, and improve the students’metacognition ability and learning ability.
