Ministry of Education in recognition of those who have higher academic attainments, long been engaged in basic teaching, focusing on teaching reform and practice, have a high level of teaching and teaching effectiveness good, in order to promote the professor to the podium, and comprehensively improve the teaching quality of higher education to ensure the teachers of colleges and universities input their main focus on to improve the quality of teaching, further to reverse the "scientific research, light teaching" situation of university, in2003, established the" University Master Teachers Award",selected100winners to be commended every three years. In January2007, the Ministry of Education included the "Master Teachers" into the" Undergraduate teaching quality and teaching reform project", and since2007, the original selection of every three years instead of once year selection. The selection of "University Master Teachers" has very important significance to deepen the new era Higher Education Reform and improve the quality of university teaching.Since the "University Master Teachers Award" was launched in2003, the number of the winners of the previous five of the "985"university teachers is205.Those205winners were selected as a sample study.I select10indicators which include the geographical distribution, the distribution of subjects, age distribution, seniority distribution, sex ratio, the highest level of education, academic titles, administrative duties, published papers and the overseas experience, in order to statistics, descript, induct, and elaborate the characteristics of this group. The author analysis the reasons of the characteristics in six aspects,and consider that the selection system is the direct cause which lead to the uneven geographical distribution and single academic title structure of the award-winning teachers; Law of growth and the development of the subject interaction restraining effect is the root cause that lead to most of those award teachers are very old Reaching long and the distribution of the subject are uneven; Social factors and personal factors together is the main reason for the result of the award-winning teacher gender imbalance; University administration create an objective conditions to the administration of the selection of the Master Teachers; High-level qualifications and a wealth of academic experience are the root fundamental of the Master Teachers to obtain the high-level teaching achievements; Emphasis on research is an important guarantee of those Master Teacher to maintain the advanced nature of teaching content. Based on the above analysis, the author consider that we should increase efforts to train female teachers and young teachers, actively create a good environment for teacher growth, take geographical balance and subject balance into account in the selection process, consider to accept the lecturer and associate professor, Encourage the award-winning teachers go on to standing on the podium, and strengthen the promotion and dissemination of the teaching experience of "Master Teachers"Information used in this study in addition to have a special label outside, mainly from the "University Master Teachers" website, the website of the Universities of the "Master Teachers", some from the China Journal Net.
