The exploration and practice of mental health education in Guangxi high education has gone though20years, and achieved great success. But in terms of some colleges and universities in the region, their mental health education started late, and the development is relatively slow, there are a lot of inadequacies in mental health education hardware facilities, teacher team-building and metal health education working system. The dissertation is based on the investigation of the actual state of mental health education in Guangxi high education, concerned with how to effectively promote its further development.Firstly, according to relevant literature and information of Guangxi high education’s mental health education, the dissertation gives the questions and defines the concept. At present, the relevant department in charge of education has issued a number of documents, developed detailed criterions and clear requirements about all aspects of college mental health education; Guangxi Department of Education started and completed four stages of Guangxi College Mental Health Education and Consultation Centre Construction Projects in succession, and put a lot of energy in the construction of teacher team-building and mental health education theory researching. In a short word, Guangxi has achieved significant success in the specialization and standardization of college mental health education.Secondly, by the means of questionnaires and individual interviews to44colleges and universities’mental health education in Guangxi, the dissertation carry out an investigation of the actual state of mental health education in Guangxi high education. The investigation mainly includes two aspects:First, five factors of mental health education, such as the organization and management of mental health education, the teacher team of mental health education, the approaches of mental health education, psychological counseling service system, the construction of mental health education working conditions; Second, an comparative analysis of colleges and vocational colleges’ mental health education. The investigation found that Guangxi college Mental Health Education has come with different levels of achievement in the concrete implementation, but there is still many gaps with the overall deployment and construction requirements of the Department of Education on mental health education: some college leaders paid insufficient attention to mental health education, the shortage of funds, the weakness of teacher team, mental health education curriculum is ineffective. Meanwhile, the mental health education gap between vocational colleges and undergraduate institutions is also very prominent. In addition, college mental health education in Guangxi blindly follow the trail of the experience of other countries and regions, do not pay attention to the methods of work, not pay attention to the effects of education, not start from the level of psychological development and psychological needs of local students, not develop national characteristics.Finally, on the basis of the investigation and analysis, the dissertation put forward some recommendations to improve mental health education in Guangxi high education. On one hand, continue to increase mental health education efforts, and promote mental health education standardize and specialize; on the other hand, focus on the actual situation of the minority areas fact in Guangxi, devote major efforts to explore the national resources, and develop mental health education work with national characteristics.
