Along with the development of New Curriculum Reform of Basic Education, the ideological andpolitical course in middle school moves on step by step. As a part of Basic Education Reform, theideological&political course features contexts, meaningfulness, practicality as well as strong theoreticalproperty. However, as the education is reformed on the background of traditional teaching method, many aproblem and puzzles turn up in the new era to be solved and changed.Since the1990s, the emerge of constructivism, a scientific teaching mode, influences quite a lot oncurriculum and teaching reform, especially after the implement of NCR. In this article, we will discussabout the NCR and reflect existing problems of traditional political teaching as well as ideological&political course in middle school, and explore the application of constructivism to find a way from theory topractice..The first section of this chapter explain the basic theory of NCR and constructivism as well as theconnection between them.In the second section, we conclude that the necessity of constructivism application in ideological&political course in the process of NCR, which mainly include following factors: the first is the call of era;Education must keep pace with the development of technology, the update of knowledge and the increasingsocial competition; the second is the inherent requirement of education development; the quality-orientededucation advocates innovative talents, the integrated development of human. Therefore, the NCRrequires"people-oriented","development of student first", meanwhile, teaching theory of constructivismalso emphasize the principal status of students, advocate self-help study, inquiry learning and innovativestudy. In the third section, we will analyze the effect and problems existing in ideological&political coursewhere constructivism is applied through documentary analysis, expert interview, combining theory andpractice and so forth and finally conclude that the primary problem lies in the development and utilizationof NCR resources,as traditional teaching mode has deeply rooted into and influences people’ mind, it ishard to grasp the real intention of NCR in practical teaching; another reason is the discordance betweenconstructivism and its practical application in teaching, which outstand students’ status and ignore teachers’function; besides, too many activities or inappropriate scenes in class, constructivism itself bears someshortages, incomplete assessment mechanism can not do its job accurately in teaching process; as well asthe various resistance from teacher, student, parents, society and so on.In the forth section, we will explore and find ways to solve problems referring the situation,furthermore, on how to enhance the timeliness of ideological&political course in middle school andsearching for ideal teaching mode, this article will provide several solutions:1, convert class educationconcept, change traditional teaching mode of "teacher speak, student listen", to stimulate students’ initiative,to guide students to explore and strengthen cooperation and communication in class.2, to reasonably mirrorteaching mode of constructivism such as situational teaching and in anchored instruction in ideological&political course in middle school.3, to correctly handle the relationship and status of teacher and student.4,optimize the assessment system of teaching and establish complete assessment mechanism.
